He served as legal counsel for the Hollis Walker Enquiry in 1924 and was Newfoundland counsel for the Pecuniary Claims Award in Rotary Club, later serving as club president, as district governor and as a member of the Rotary International Administration Commission.

At this conference the project of a treaty for the arbitration of pecuniary claims was adopted, and the signatories agreed for a term of five years to submit to arbitration ( preferably to the permanent court at The Hague ) all claims for pecuniary loss or damage presented by their respective citizens and not capable of settlement through diplomatic channels, where they were of sufficient importance to warrant the expense of a court of arbitration.

Nawab Arastu Jah, during his captivity in Poona obtained much influence with the Marathas, so that before his return and reappointment as minister, which took place in July 1797, he obtained the restoration of the territories ceded by the Nizam after the Battle of Kharda, the abandonment of claims from Chauth on Bida, recession of the fort of Daulatabad and the extension of all the pecuniary claims on the part of the Maratha.
